New portrait released on his 45th birthday of Forest favourite Robbie Earnshaw! He remains a firm favourite with fans, a regular visitor to The City Ground and a unique soft spot with the fans for a former Derby player.

Robert Earnshaw is a former professional footballer and Welsh international striker, best known for his prolific goal-scoring record and his memorable spell with Nottingham Forest. Born in Mufulira, Zambia, in 1981 and raised in Wales, Earnshaw began his professional career with Cardiff City, where his sharp finishing and instinctive movement quickly marked him out as one of the most natural goal scorers in British football.

Earnshaw joined Nottingham Forest in 2008 and immediately made a significant impact at the City Ground. During his time with the club, he became a key attacking figure, scoring 30 goals in his first season as Forest secured promotion to the Championship. His ability to find space, anticipate chances, and finish clinically made him one of the most reliable strikers in the division. Across his Forest career, he scored over 40 goals, consistently delivering important contributions in both league and cup competitions.

Known for his pace, intelligent positioning, and composure in front of goal, Earnshaw had a rare knack for scoring all types of finishes — from poacher’s efforts inside the box to well-taken strikes under pressure. His professionalism and work ethic also made him a valued presence within the squad, helping to set standards both on and off the pitch.

Internationally, Earnshaw represented Wales, earning 59 caps and scoring 16 goals, becoming one of the country’s most recognisable forwards of his generation. Notably, he is one of the few players to have scored a hat-trick in the Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two, FA Cup, League Cup, and for his country — a unique achievement that highlights his consistency across all levels of the game.

After leaving Nottingham Forest, Earnshaw continued his career with several clubs in the UK and abroad, maintaining his reputation as a dependable and experienced striker before moving into coaching and ambassadorial roles within football.
