Steve Stone is a former English footballer who has a significant connection to Nottingham Forest. Born on August 20, 1971, he began his professional career at Nottingham Forest  and became an important player for the club despite facing significant injury challenges.

Career at Forest: Despite suffering three broken legs during his time there, he managed to establish himself as a vital team player  and signed professional terms in 1989 just as the club became a trophy-winning entity again, beating Luton in the League Cup final .

International Recognition: His performances at Nottingham Forest were good enough to earn him a call-up to the England national team, making his international debut in 1995 against Norway and going on to earn nine caps, scoring twice .

Career Progression: He moved to Aston Villa for £5.5 million in March 1999 when he was 27 years old , later playing for Portsmouth and Leeds United before retiring in 2006.

Post-Playing Career: Stone was part of the coaching staff at Newcastle United from July 2010 to June 2015 .
