Since his arrival at Nottingham Forest in August 2025 on a five-year contract, Nicolò Savona has made a genuinely impressive start.  The 22-year-old Italian defender has brought a blend of athleticism, composure and emerging attacking threat that quickly caught the eye. His height (1.92 m) gives him a strong physical presence, while his previous development at Juventus’s academy and senior squad laid the ground for this next step. 

In his first handful of appearances for Forest he has already chipped in with two vital goals - a remarkable return for a defender and a strong indicator of his forward movement and threat from deep.  Beyond the raw numbers, his defensive contributions have been sturdy: he’s adapted into the Premier League’s pace, shown good positional awareness and been willing to press forward when the team builds from the back. He looks comfortable in his right-footed role and versatile enough to slot into different defensive setups if required.

Off the pitch, the move to Forest seems to mark a confident step in his career: a fresh challenge outside Italy, in England’s top flight, signalling both the club’s faith in his potential and his ambition.
